It started with a Promise...
Them. My customers and future potential customers.
It didn't seem equitable that a person with less hair should be charged the same price as a person with a full head of hair. In fact, prices should vary with Age, Styles, Time & effort. Not one price fits all! And with that, STAG would be the first and only shop to start a new tradition, deemed, the STAG WAY. There is a base rate for Adults and Seniors alike, but, the final price would be commensurate to the actual work performed. Which also included the return of the Hot Steamed Towel Neck Shave!
As times would have it, neck shaves was the thing of the past. Ever since the AIDS epidemic, shaving was no longer available and was never brought back. At least not until 2007 when STAG brought it back after Napoleon's downtown Boise closed! Being the ONLY Men's Hair Shop to provide that clean neck shave. If you were lucky, you received a Happy Hour Beer, complimenting the finishing touch of the old fashioned "BarBarette", the STAG way!
Idaho Business Review
Women of then Year Award
Each individual honored were hand selected. Miss Santa Cruz was nominated by her employees and was selected by IBR as one of the 50 most successful business owners in Boise. More than a 100 nominations to sort through, but it was apparent that her success was self driven. Taking on a role as a Single Mother to three kids, school and work is hard enough as it is, but she added more to her plate by including the community and taking on the work of a Non-Profit singlehandedly.

What it means to be a
Local Business
The Owner, Maria Santa Cruz, had a vision. With her heart set on being a part of the community she knew she stepped into her own Arena.
Boise was the perfect setting for her endeavor. She knew enough about Boise after 7 years that the people generally took to local businesses before corporations. It was the going trend these days so the gravitational pull was in her favor. Not just for the business but to use her shop as a platform of which she would generate a hub to do charitable work. Being a Local Business will help immensely. (inset picture of 1st annual Cut A Thon)
